What is Chlorella?

> Chlorella is a type of algae that grows in fresh water. It's sometimes called seaweed. > Chlorella is a good source of fibre, chlorophyll, vit A, zinc, iron, phosphorus, magnesium. It’s also an excellent source of B vits which support energy production & brain health. > It typically contains 50 - 60% complete protein, with all nine essential amino acids. This makes it good for people on a plant-based diet or anyone who needs a protein boost. > Chlorella is also one of the few plant sources of vitamin B-12. > Chlorella is available in a dark green powder, capsule, or extract form at many health food stores. You can take it as a supplement, or add it to smoothies.

Chlorella may offer health benefits including: 1/ toxin clearance - of heavy metals from diet, lifestyle, and pollution. 2/ heart support - helps lower bad cholesterol and BP. 3/ chronic illnesses reduction: [1] reduces chronic inflammation which can lead to diabetes, heart disease, gastrointestinal disorders and arthritis. Inflammation is the leading cause of death in the world, [2] reduces free radicals which fight cell damage and help reduce your risk of diabetes, cognitive disease, heart problems, andcancer. 4/ immune system support: [1] antibacterial, antiviral and anti-tumor properties, [2] increases white blood cells, which help fight infection. 5/ respiratory health - helps manage respiratory conditions (eg. asthma, COPD) and promotes better lung function and endurance

Caution! If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have iodine sensitivity, an allergy to moulds, a weakened immune system or an autoimmune condition, you may be advised not to take chlorella in case of a reaction. It is also advised that you do not take chlorella if you are taking any medication that decreases the immune system, as well as blood thinners such as warfarin.
